At “La Danza Villa Jimenez,“ we sing, we dance we have fun. You know La Danza isn't just an excuse to to drink (haha), La Danza is a festival celebrated in Villa Jimenez (Michoacán de Guadalupe) this festival is were people connect and have fun once a year during February. Whoever comes to La Danza is assured to have fun. La Danza helps people connect do to the fact that there is so much people. To be honest i’ll go to the festival and find what Mexicans call “Primos” and do not have a clue who they are and they will say I remember when you were so small and look how big you are. I'll be like, I don't remember you when you were small or big. It doesn't necessarily need to be family you will always find someone new unless you are antisocial but, if you are, then what are you doing here. As Claribel Cervantes said, "always a good place to meet new people." All you really do is meet and talk to new people. The reason we celebrate is because of Saint Nicholas. Now, a story that's most danzantes that have been at La Danza since day one knows. St. Nicolas was found by a small little family who had driven past the road where it was sitting on. No one knows how it got there but we know how La Danza was started. So, this family takes the saint to their house and all it does is make noise and sing and play music it has no instruments but, it has the power to make the noise. This family, once they had nothing else to do about the noise, they had to take it to a priest and they took it to “La Capilla” which is now the church. They had to because they tried everything to get it to stop to sing so the priest said, "this is no ordinary saint the reason that it doesn't stop singing is because it needs party it needs a celebration." So, every year we have a four day celebration during February. This saint is missing two fingers they would fix it but the saint would just take them off because the saint would not want the two fingers he just did not like them because that's how he has been for many years. How Michoacanos and Michoacanas party is, we dance we sing but most importantly we have fun this celebration startes of in a mountain called “La Penita”, not all people do but i wanna say 30% do. They dance all the way to the chapel we don't get a break for 4 days straight. Outside there is plenty of stands for example toys or jewelry or food. Some food options are pizza, nachos or empanadas the have plenty of Mexican foods that are very common. At the end of day, well only Sunday, Monday and Tuesday they don't do it on Saturday. We have el cordon which is a braid that one of our main characters participate in is La Monarca. We have four main characters La Monarca, Las Malinches, y los viejitos. La Monarca is just a guy in a traditional mask, Las Malinches are women thats are dressed in a dress of the color that the Monarca is wearing and they are also dancing with him. And los viejitos are just people any person that goes to the carnival in a costume. So, La Monarca is just making sure that they are making the braid write now this braid is really tall maybe more than 10 feet so if they mess up once they have to start all over again and it's about 30 men doing it at once. In conclusion, I just want to say why iI chose this topic. The reason I chose this topic was because it reminds me of family and family's a very happy thing. Thinking about this topic almost makes me want to cry because I love my family so much and this is very important to me because we go every year. It is something that our family just has as we go there some years. When we don’t go it’s really sad, we miss it. But, I can assure you that if we don’t go it’s like a year or year that has something that’s being missed like we have that empty feeling and that empty feeling carries on with us the whole year.
Different Traditions Are Everywhere
By ANA PEREZ
Even though El Salvador is more than 100 miles away, traditions from there are still celebrated in California. I interviewed Maira Perez, my mom, who is from El Salvador. She gave me many interesting facts and details to support my topic. There are many traditions, like cooking, that people do in El Salvador that my family does here in California for Christmas. To begin with, food is an incredible tradition in both places for Christmas. Maira Perez mentions in the interview, entering December we hear Christmas songs. We make “panes con pollo” and “pupusas” on the 24th. This explains how there is different foods made in the Christmas. Pupusas are a thick hand made tortilla with different fillings like beans and cheese. My mom also makes “panes con pollo,” most of the time. Panes con pollo are made with first chicken with salsa. The chicken is put into a bread called “bolillo.” This is then topped with vegetable of your choice. In other times my mom also makes pozole which is a kind of soup with corn and chicken. In El Salvador my grandma also makes “panes con pollo” for my uncles, aunts, and cousins. Additionally, another reason that shows that different traditions are everywhere for Christmas is families being reunited. In the website quora.com it states that, “the whole family gets together, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, and so on. If some live far away people go and spend the day and perhaps sleep over that day.” This is important because it shows how family is an in incredible part of Christmas. Family makes Christmas so much more cheerful than it already is. In my family, aunts and uncles that normally don't come to my house go to my house. It makes Christmas a lot more happier. In El Salvador, my family goes over to my grandmas house. They have a long table because of how many family members go to visit. Everyone talks about their life and how they wish family from California can go to El Salvador. Furthermore, a tradition that my family both do in El Salvador and here is the “nacimiento de Jesús.” The nacimiento de Jesus took place in a manger that was surrounded by animals. Jesus was also surrounded by his parents Jose and Maria and the three wise men. This is also said in english as the birth of Jesus. For example, quora.com states that, “ In the set up of Christmas, churches put up the nacimiento.” This is significant because it explains how God and Jesus is a very important part of Christmas. My family and I set up our nacimiento under the Christmas tree. It is surrounded by Christmas gifts. The “nacimiento de Jesus” brings my family together. In El Salvador my family puts the “nacimiento de Jesus” under the Christmas tree as well. In writing my article I've learned that family is a very special part in Christmas. The celebration gets more cheerful when there is family around. This is important because it shows how no matter where you are, there are always going to be different cultures and different traditions that surround you.
A Fun Family Tradition
By ASHLEE MAYO
Today you will read about my one a year tradition with my family. This story will tell you about how we prepare for our once a year tradition of making tamales with my family. As a family we connect by our love of cooking. “It's a tradition that comes from my grandparents then from my parents and I hope my family keeps it going from generation,” said Marielis Gutierrez, my mom. I think this quote is important because we have kept this tradition of making tamales with my family going for so long and we don't want to lose it. Keeping this tradition of making tamales with my family is important because it shows other people that we love getting together to keep it going and having fun while doing it. “Traditions are all about sharing time with family,” said Bricia Lopez. This quote means that time with family should be appreciated. This relates to my story angle because this is how we spend our time. We make tamales by using masa made out of maize mixed with chili sauce, chicken, and hoja de platano, or banana leaf. All of this is done the day before Christmas so the tamales have time to cook. “It's amazing we all cooperate from the youngest to the oldest,” said Marielis Gutierrez, my mom. This is important because this shows how much we care about keeping this tradition of making tamales that we've kept going for so long. This impacts me and others because me and my family show how much effort we put into mak no these tamales for Christmas with the family even though some of my uncles and aunts work they still have time to come and help even if it's just a little late. This is important topic to talk about because I know a lot of people have tradition but I know that sometimes the traditions tend to die when people don't care about keeping it going. My tradition is about making tamales with my family. We always make them at my house because my mom is the one who knows more about cooking than anybody in the family. So we all gather up in the kitchen to wait to get assigned to something im always assigned to put masa onto the leaf and to put the chicken on to the masa. I started doing this when I was about five or six years old. All we need to make that tamales are masa, chicken, hoja de platano,a little caldo de pollo, and chili sauce. Most of the time the more older kids are the ones washing the leaves and the parents and the smallest kids help make tamales. And this is my once a year tradition.
La Rosca
By ASHLEY VASQUEZ
“Mexican children receive gifts from the three kings sometimes placed in shoes that the children in shoes that the children have left overnight.”(tripsavvy). As a family tradition we eat a rosca on January 6 which is El Dia de Los Reyes Magos. This is a day we all gather up to cut the rosca. According to Ashley Westerman, “On January 6 many Christians around the world will celebrate “Epiphany” or three kings day." On January 6 people who celebrate three kings day Day buy a bread called La rosca. The Rosca is a bread/cake it is rounded it has a lot of colors. According to Javier Cabral, a food writer, “ the Rosca de Reyes is originally from Mexico.” The three kings are main part of the Rosca de Reyes. In my family we love the tradition of La rosca we celebrate it every year. In conclusion what I learned was that my family has been celebrating Three kings day for 18 years. This is an important topic because you learn more about your family traditions. This brings me closer to my family because I learn what they been doing.
Ancient Art
By BEATRIZ SANCHEZ
Ancient Art with a meaning of something. Ancient art is all the real things in the future. There are some that are real because some are fake. Each ancient art will have something that will mean something about a person’s life. These paintings are not just painting there's a reason why they paint it. Veronica Valadez said the things what an ancient art has, for example she said something of why this thing (object) is there. Valadez stated that there are these people that like making ancient art but were told to not make ancient art. Speaking to Valadez she said that there were some people that make ancient art and were told not to make them anymore but they still doing it, it’s a secret. Veronica Valadez said that she loves ancient art. She also told me that she goes to Teotihuacan to see ancient art. According to wuwf.org its said that ancient art has a meaning of what it's doing. What suprised me was that people still make ancient art and that some were fake. This topic shows that ancient art has its own meaning. People may like this story because ancient art is interesting. This story might make people like ancient art.
The Good in Sports
By BEVERLY DE LEON
Some sports are challenging and that’s what makes it fun. Even if you don't think it is. Sports allow you to work together as a community. They are a good thing and you might not like it at first but then you can notice that they are fun. Sports are challenging and you have to be thoughtful. Mostly in soccer, it's very challenging. And you have to be very thoughtful because you could get hurt because of how challenging it is. “Obviously if your’e injured you can't play and you have to be in the side lines and I've you know I've been injured in soccer many times,” said Martin Macias For instance, Lionel has gotten injured in his soccer career a lot. One of his injuries took 56 to heal. That injury was a torn muscle. He was injured Nov 11, 2013 to Jan 6 2014. He also had others injuries like forearm fracture, back bruise, kidney stone surgery, thigh problems, kidney problems, ankle problems, and the torn muscle bundle. Furthermore, sports allow you to work together as a community. You get to work together as a team and community because to win a game you have to communicate. “It's good to have a perspective incredibly beautiful thing and mindful bringing positive things on the field” Is another from Martin Macias. Also, Lionel is known for the best soccer player in his generation. He's also one of the best in most of the history. You can also work together because you communicate during the game and if someone gets injured they all work together to get up. Additionally, soccer brings positivity and helps you let out stress. Spots brings positivity because when you win a game you bring excitement. “It's also very emotionally demonalizing emotionally creeping I would say you can express yourself as a player,”said Martin Macias. You can let your stress out by just kicking a ball and you don't need a lot of equipment you just need something to play with you don't even need In conclusion, sports can also bring you closer to your family by communicating with each other. And, sports are good for health and mentally. I enjoy sports because I always played soccer with my older sister and sometimes we still play and on weekends me and my family play soccer.
Christmas and Family
By BRANDON MACIAS
Christmas is not only about presents we need to spend time with family to remember. The overall beat is that people should not care for the presents they should care for family. My story is about why people should not care for presents. “What my family should focus more on is family than gifts,” said Esmeralda Bermudez. This means that a lot of people just like Christmas because of presents. I agree because it makes people spoiled and makes their family spend a lot of money. “The only thing I don't like about Christmas is that for my kids to be assessed with with presents,” said Esmeralda Bermudez. It relates to my story angle because it is about people just wanting gifts. How it impacts is that if you don't get presents or don't get what the want they get mad. “What's important about Christmas is that it brings family together,” said Esmeralda. The reason Christmas is important is because people can spend time with each other family members you mite not see again. “People should not care for presents they should just be happy for being with their family,” said Scarlett Ramos. I agree with this quote because you can see family that you haven't seen for a long time. Christmas is a holiday about spending time with family it could also be about presents but not everything is about presents it’s a holiday about family. What I learned is that some people need to be with family and take pictures it brings family together all your family spend time and you get to see them this topic affects others by making them spoiled this topic should tell all of you to not care for presents.
Different Foods Around the World
By CAROLINA FLORES
Food is interesting because each food has a different flavor, taste, and textuare. It is interesting to try different foods in the world. Every place has something unique that they don't make it in all places. Even some recipes are the same it's all going to taste different. We all add that's special seasoning and that flavor and that history in our hands. ”Every different food people eat is if they all make a cake the same way it is still gonna have a different flavor or texture" said Bricia Lopez. This is important because you can like or love that food that you tried. In South America caramel sauce that has a thick and gloopy consistency, according to goodfood. Sweet food that might taste different here. To describe a different dessert that is sweet and the textures are very nice to eat over where the food came from. For example, “blending of tradition to exotic touches of the unexpected," according to The Baltimore Sun. They try to make the food look good, taste delicious and weird flavors that are good to the food you are going to eat. Finally, I want to invite people to taste all delicious foods and not eat the same food forever. If they try snack, dessert, and more it can be your favorite food.
Family Business
By DAVID CAMPOS
There are many types of family businesses that have interesting differences and backgrounds. Most of my facts came from Bricia Lopez and my dad who is filled with rich history that help us to stay together for the storylines of our time and the audience of history and our family business together every day we have learned to stay together and we have learned that we can relate to the family business together. The work is filled by the people who have been on this job for many years together. Bricia Lopez states, “when you get older you think you're entitled to the the family business but in reality you have to work to get the job.” This means that you should not think you are for sure getting the job you have to work hard to get the job. My dad states that the original owner(Curtis Jackson) moved away and gave it to my grandfather because he trusted him the most out of all the workers and people who have more money than my grandfather. Bricia said, “multiple generations work together.” this shows how family generations can work together and not solo. My family business together is one of the companies that work together with each family member and customers who have trouble understanding the process of their business with the family. “The person who owns the family business doesn't want to let it go.” This means that the owner doesn't trust the next generation with the company. In conclusion, I learned the meaning of a family business.
Football and Family
By EMILIANO CEJA
Football is close to being a dangerous sport. Sports is my favorite thing to do when I have my free time. Football is a dangerous sport. It is dangerous because you could get hurt really bad you could get knocked out if someone hits you so hard. Its is fun and exciting to watch sports with your family. Watching sports with your family is exciting and funny & and fun because family or friends come to your house and watch a game with you (it could be any sport) they are supporting their teams or the same team, its funny because when the other team scores or has another point they get mad. My two favorite players for football are, Marshawn Lynch and Odell Beckham Jr. Odell is in the New York Giants and Marshawn Lynch is in the Raiders. Marshawn is my favorite football player because he was in two of my favorite teams the Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks he played so great for those two teams. I learned that football can be dangerous to play. People should talk about It because people that play it have to be careful.
Facts About the Viola
By EMILY PEREZ
Some people may think the viola and the violin are the same and I remember a person saying that, but I told them that the viola is very different. The sound is a little different because the strings have different sounds. Also, the viola is part of music and is a string instrument and is used in orchestras and you get to enjoy the music and sound it plays. First of all, it's a very important skill to play an instrument and this relates to my story angle because it relates to music. For example, I play the viola so playing the viola is a skill I have and anyone who plays an instrument has a skill and it's important because if I were to to play viola and want to do it as a job or career I could join an orchestra, according to Vaneza Calderon. Furthermore, viola is not a very range instrument like the violin since it only has one string which is the different in sound, string name and so this relates to my story angle because what my topic is about is the viola. And so I'm explaining how the viola is different than the violin and the string differences because they do have differences in strings. Then, the way you name the strings, according to get-tuned.com. Thirdly, the Italian luthier, Andrea Amati, was the one who created modern viola in the family in the year 1555 and bowed stringed instruments were invented long before this date. For example, there is normally 10 to 14 violas in the orchestra, according to get-tuned.com and oregonsymphony.org learning. In Conclusion, this is an important topic to talk about because I remember a person saying that the viola is the violin but I told them is a very different instrument and this could help them stop getting confused.
The Christmas Celebration
By FATIMA PACHECO
Christmas can unite you with your family. One interesting fact about this topic is the difference between how christmas is celebrated differently. My topic is focusing on how christmas is celebrated here in Los Angeles and in Mexico and how they're different and similar. First of all, the houses are decorated differently. I know this because, “Mexico household isn’t decorated properly if it doesn’t have a nativity scene, and the more elaborated and creative the better,” according to Theodysseyonline.com. I think that Mexicans do the nativity scene to honor the birth of Jesus. I think it is this because when they but the scene up you see baby Jesus there when he was born. In contrast, “American houses are always beautifully decorated, but there is a lot more of them with “Winter Wonderland” or “Santa’s Workshop” themed houses, according to Theodysseyonline.com. I think Americans decorate their house like that because in Los Angeles most of the people do it because of Santa. I think they try to copy his workshop and for the winter wonderland they try to make it like the North Pole which is were Santa has his workshop. Similarly, christmas is important in both Mexico and Los Angeles. It is important because according to one of my interviewees, Jasmine Sanchez, “If christmas didn't exist we wouldn't be as close with our family.” I agree with this because you can have family from another state or country visit you. Also, when they visit you your seeing each other often. Jasmine also said, “Christmas is a happy, loving holiday. Since you are spending time together. You do things you wouldn't do as a daily basis.” I think christmas is important because it can create a closer bond or make it stronger. Furthermore, christmas is about many things. For instance, Melissa Carrillo said that christmas is about, “Family and unity not about the gifts. It’s about traditions and cultures spending time with your family.” I think what Melissa thinks christmas is about is what I think. I agree with her because christmas should be about family and unity and not about the gifts. Because you're basically spending time with your family. I celebrate christmas December 24th the day of Christmas Eve. We basically wait until 12:00 AM to open the presents. This day is my favorite because we have so much fun. We talk and create a stronger bond. What my mom my sister and I make are Tamales and Posole. I clean the leaves that go around the tamales my mom cooks them and my sister puts the chicken and chile on the tamales. In conclusion, something that surprised me is how christmas is celebrated with family and their traditions. Also, christmas keeps you united with people you love.
Christmas Around the World
By JASMINE SANCHEZ
Even though Mexico might be kind of far, they still celebrate holidays and traditions similarly and differently. I interviewed Martha Dominguez, my grandma, and she helped me get a lot of information about similarities and differences for Christmas in Mexico and California. Through my research, I did find that there are many traditions that we celebrate here in California and Mexico that are similar and different. For example, in both Mexico and California, Christmas is a wonderful and important event. Diane Todd, and website writer, communicates, “Both holidays remain grand events in their cultures, and both ar based on the celebration however this is where the major similarities conclude. The celebration of Christmas can be celebrated differently in other cultures. In Mexico, there are different cultures and they do celebrate Christmas different than here on California but they also celebrate it in a similar way. Furthermore, being with your family can bring you closer and it’s fun to be able to spend time with them. Melissa Carrillo, a college student noted that, “Family and unity and not about gifts, it’s about traditions and culture and spending time with your family.” I don't think that celebrating christmas is about gifts and the decorations. I think it's about being able to spend time with family and being able to enjoy the celebration Jesus’s birthday. Also, you can get to know your family more and get closer. Additionally, Mexico and California like to celebrate Christmas in different ways. My grandma, Martha, indicated that, “In California, Christmas isn't celebrated the same because in California, all the people don't really get together, but in Mexico people get together and celebrate it all together.” I feel like Christmas means more to people in Mexico since they spend more time together than in California. I feel like California likes more of the decoration, food, and gifts than Mexico does. In conclusion, it surprised me that Mexico spends way more time together celebrating Jesus’s birthday than here in California. This is important because some people think that all religions celebrate holidays the same way. This brings me closer to my family because I get to teach them how we can celebrate holidays all together as a family and how we can fix everything that I think should be fixed for us.
Ancient Art Time!
By JAZMINE PACHECO
People are going to read my story because my story is going to talk about Ancient art and how art help people from having a bad day. I choose this topic because I really love to do art but I just copy from my phone it very fun, also I want to share my art does to people that is having a bad day because art does really help. Ancient art is not only art, it’s something that you enjoy like people that see art and have a bad day seeing art they forget about the bad things and the people that makes them that still enjoy to witch is everyone. In Mexico they paint Ancient art, they have weird things like a flower in their hand or they paint something weird but what Veronica Valadez said that it was samples and what it really means I really don't know but it like what Mexico believes in. Veronica Valadez said that she love sharing her art because people know that it from their country and that what makes then ask question. Veronica Valadez believes I don't really know but she said that the people that left something behind for use well she say that she touch it for the first time to see if it's real and it was. Some people that they don't know anything about Mexico and art that they do those people don't believe anything about the samples and Ancient Art they just think is a weirdest thing ever. This topic surprised me because I really love art and the art that Mexican people do it really pretty and like I say art helps people so I really want to help by doing art but I'm and at it so I'm going to be a doctor when I grow up and help people.
Connections with People
By JIMENA GUTIERREZ
When a family plays a sport you can unite your family closer together. Although, even if you don’t play sports you can watch a game on the tv and talk after the game. There is many ways to unite a family or friends closer together. Vince La Rosa said, “also it's the ability to work with teams and other people.” What this quote is saying is that when your playing a sport like baseball you can’t play by yourself. You need a team and it would be more fun and surprisingly your uniting. Abigail states, “they love their sport and they express it in a way they make people happy.” This means that people unite with each other because they enjoy what there watching and they talk about it. Another quote from Abigail is, “we go for them because we're in LA and, they have good players.” This unites people because they go for the same team and they enjoy it. I learned that talking can unite people together, surprisingly. This is important because sometimes we as people don't talk to each other and we can't really unite if you never meet someone new. This would affect the world because it's healthy to talk to new people.
The Importance of Family
By JOHN MIRANDA
We all need to connect as a family. It is important to spend time together as a family through talking and enjoying ourselves in the places we go like theme parks or out of state and out of the country. A quote from Edgar Arceneaux, “not all family get along.” I think this meant that family don’t get along but why? They probably have gotten into fights but not talking to each other. They might have family problems but that can be fixed. Another quote from Edgar Arceneaux, “your family are the people that care about you.” I feel like this quote is important because no matter what your family is gonna have your back. Also, as they say you never know what you have until you lose it. A quote from Grecia Mercado, my sister, ”in the beginning we had to become a family.’’ This is important because her being my step sister, we had to become family and now she my sister not my step sister. Also, that our family is our life. We have to realize that at some point we're not going to have our family. What I learned that it is important to be with family. What surprise me was that a lot of people are going to experience the saying”you don't know what you have until you lose it’’
Stepping
By JUNIOR SANDOVAL
It's been here since a long time ago. Older than a dinosaur. My sister said it started in the Greek times. What is the history behind it? My first fact and quote is about its' origin. The club of stepping has been around since 1950. They also have different clubs in the school like omega and sigma beta clubs. My second fact is about who started stepping. I think it was the Greek gods who started this because it has Greek symbols in the names. So, I think that they do that for fun. My third fact and quote is why do they do that? I sometimes celebrate black history month it is to remember the black people.
Spending Time with Family
By KEYLI SERRANO
Sports can improve many families relationships. When a family roots for the same team it leads to a greater bond. Spending time with family while watching sports bring us closer. Watching sports with family can improve connections. According to greenbaypressgazette.com, they asked most family how they connect they responded, “We connect by watching sports.” Furthermore, when one of my classmates interviewed someone close to my topic I asked what's the best part when you watch games with your family. He responded with, “I don't know the outcome, the raw content, and adrenaline of sports,” Said Jamal Adams. Additionally, this is important because if you and your family don't really connect this can be a way to connect. What me and my family do when we watch sports. When I watch soccer games with my family, usually Barcelona, we place a tv out in the backyard and make BBQ, like carne asada, hot links, and corn. We usually do this when our favorite team playing in like finals or championships. Additionally, this is a way how me and my family connect. Why me and my family love to watch soccer, the reason why I love to watch soccer is because it brings me joy when I see my family get so excited over one sport and bonding together and enjoy watching a team play. In conclusion, I learned how that sports can bring joy and happiness in many different ways. This is why is believe watching sports with family is important.
Dodgers and Family
By LIANEE GUZMAN
Dodger games can help you and your family come closer together. My family bonds by spending a lot of time together watching Dodger games. The Dodgers are an important team in Los Angeles. According to Citlali Guzman, “I cancel everything I need to do when the Dodgers play.” This quote means that bonding with family is more important than any plans you make that day. This can impact your family because then others will feel more comfortable being together by bonding. Based on Citlali Guzman, I found that “They are good players, good team. If in the World Series two each year, they don’t win they need something we don’t know what.” Families can come more together thinking of this question. They can at least win once so that other family’s can collaborate together. One example from Citlali Guzman is , “they were in the World Series two consecutive times.” This quote means that the Dodgers have a chance to win to change other families . Families come together more than once. This topic helped me understand we can bond because of the Dodger games. This affected my life because my family never came together until we started watching the Dodger games.this is good for people that are concerned about family joinings. I hope this can help others family's.
Spending Time with Family
By MICHIL DIAZ
When you spend time with people you love it is more fun. I agree with this because I have more fun when I am together with my family. One thing my family celebrates together is baseball games in Las Vegas with my cousins, aunts, and uncles. When we celebrate we all have to vote on which foods to eat. Some people want tamales others want hot dogs and others want carne asada. Some other times we do all of them hot dogs, tamales, and carne asada. We get the tv outside and we play in the pools, sprinklers, and we get ice cream. In conclusion, I learned that spending time with family is important. My topic talks about connecting people together. My topic affects others in a positive way.
Acting Changes Lives
By PAOLA CRUZ
Acting has been a big influential factor in my life and has helped me over the years. It is a form of fine arts usually presented to an audience and often on a stage. Acting can have an impact on someone's life because it can help them find themselves an demands of self-expression can be developed. For instance, in an interview with Brianna Ligon she said, “It is fun and it's overall, it's kinda like an escape.” What I got from that was that acting was like a distraction to not care about bad things and have fun. In the same manner I'm not as stressed as usual when I'm acting because I am free to act as someone else and just feel free. Another essential point is, according to the website Jake Orr, plays and other types of performing arts have a message because the maker has chosen to show it in that medium. The purpose of a performance is to coexist in a space shared between maker and audience. The message is expressed with live emotions and is visually presented so people will understand and feel it. I've learned that there is a message behind every performance. More importantly, in an interview with Ashley Marroquin, she stated that she met new people and made lots of friends in the program she's in called Fine Arts. She built really strong bonds that have lasted a long time. I met her in second grade and we have grown up together in Fine Arts. Relationships are an important part in acting because you have to know who you are working with.
